Weather in Cabo

Getting over 300 days of sunshine a year, it’s no wonder why tourists from all around the world come to join the Cabo fiesta. Los Cabos is situated right at the beginning of the Tropic of Cancer where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortés. This fusion of cooler temperatures from the Pacific with the warmth of Cabo’s most prized body of water makes for incredibly pleasant weather all year round ‑ that is, if you like warm weather of course.

The Cabo Marina

Expect the hottest month to be August with daytime temperatures in the mid 90s (ºF). The warm temperatures of summer is the perfect complement to increased underwater visibility that comes during that season. In some cases, visibility can be as high as 100 ft, or about 30m, in world reknown snorkeling sites like Cabo Pulmo.

We prefer the bayside for activities and the Pacific for the views.

In case you’re really picky about the weather, you may plan your accomodations around the Cabo climate. For example, temperatures are usually about 10ºF cooler on the Pacific side of Los Cabos. So if you’re looking for cooler weather, you may find a hotel in that region to be more suitable. We prefer the bayside for activities and the Pacific for the views. As you head east, warmer temperatures tend to be experienced with the hottest weather around San José del Cabo and especially La Paz. There may be some humidity brought forth from the Sea of Cortés but definitely not anywhere near the levels seen in Cancun or Puerto Vallarta.

In the winter, you could expect temperatures to fall to the low 60s at the night-time lows. During summer, in contrast, nightly lows touch the upper 70s to low 80s.

It hardly ever rains in Cabo. And when it does rain, it usually happens on back-to-back days, a few days in a row. About half of Cabo’s rainfall comes during September, leaving only about five inches for the months leading up to February. Other than that, the weather is pretty warm throughout the year.
